MegaSkills: Reading, Writing, Math: How Parents Can Help Children Succeed in School
Video

Reading, Writing, Math: How Parents Can Help Children Succeed in School is a teacher in-training video companion to the book of the same title by Dr. Dorothy Rich, creator of the Home and School Institute and the award winning MegaSkills curriculum. It is one of six in a series of educational materials that explore how character education and community involvement have an overall impact on the quality of a student's education.
Reading, Writing, Math was filmed live during a seminar conducted by Dr. Rich with educators and parents. Each film has an introduction that gives the audience background on what the MegaSkills are and how they are an effective teaching tool for the child's education. Six different segments offer highlights of the books, ways to bring school and community together, and interactive exercises with the studio audience.
The following reference question are highlighted in the video's accompanying Instructors Guide: What can we do to make kinds more comfortable with math and numbers? - How can we improve children's writing skills? - How do we interest kids to read on their own? These questions along with an overcoming hindrances and finding helps discussion section are among topics discussed in this video.
