Drunk Driving: A Collision Course
Video

Drunk Driving: A Collision Course offers information to teens about drinking, driving and peer pressure.

The video tells the story of two sisters who convince their parents to let them go with two boys to a party. At the party the older sister sets a bad example for the younger sister by drinking, and also by not watching closely the condition of the boy who drove them.

The video includes a moving narration by the older sister, as well as powerful scenes of the car wreck, and from the hospital where the girls’ parents first learn of their daughter’s death.

Scenes are repeated in flashback to emphasize important lessons in the video. Teens will learn how to recognize a dangerous situation, the different ways people behave when drunk, different ways to say no while avoiding potential ridicule, along with the consequences of breaking the law.

Facts

• This video presents realistic situations and a range of behaviors that young people are likely to encounter during the course of normal teenage social interaction.

• Features a dramatic story of a teen drinking and driving incident where the consequences are death. This is very effective, because it makes teens realize that they are not invincible, even if a person may “look” sober, the drug has affected visual and motor skills.

• It is designed to present realistic situations and a range of behaviors that young people are likely to encounter during the course of normal teenage social life, which is great because if they relate to it, they are more likely to listen to the message and learn from it.

• The other great thing is that it is only 18 minutes, so it is the perfect amount of time to keep the kid’s attention at this age, and you’ll also have plenty of time for the rest of your presentation.

• Comes with Leader's Guide and 50 pamphlets.
