Saying NO! Marijuana Package
Package
A comprehensive package for middle and junior high school students on preventing use of alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana. Children learn of social repercussions brought to themselves by the use of these seemingly harmless drugs. Myths are dismissed about the less harmful effects of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana when compared to other "harder" drugs. These widely abused drugs are considered to be a gateway to use of other substances.
Students learn the mental, physical, emotional and social dangers of using alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana. They also discover methods employed in advertising, entertainment media, or by their own peers to lure them into using these substances.
Through activities and exercises, students build vocabulary, problem solving, decision-making, and refusal skills. Mini-mags include a list of Web sites to visit for further information.
