The Insiders Comic Book Series features a group of pre-teen friends that are faced with the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana.

They take steps towards keeping their friends safe from these harmful drugs. With the help of their robot companion the teens educate other young people on the consequences of drug use and what it could do to their body and mind and how it effects not only the drug user but everyone around them.

Each book covers a specific problem faced by the young people. The first comic book is entitled The Tobacco Temptation. The Insiders help a young man realize that tobacco is not safe even if they see grown-ups smoking or chewing it. Students learn of the media hype behind tobacco and of its addictive nature.

In Tony’s Sobering Lesson, the insiders take initiative to stop Tony from drinking alcohol. How alcohol affects a person’s body, the way they think and act, and cause several health problems are all taught in this comic book.

The final book in this series is the Marijuana Mystery. In this story a young girl learns the hard way that marijuana use not only affects the user but all those around them. Students learn ways to avoid marijuana and reasons to say no.

The easy-to-read format of these books allow students to retain the drug prevention information.
