The Eli Sprightly Series presents personal safety messages to children through a lovable puppet.
In The Safety Adventures of Eli Sprightly: Stranger Safety, young children learn never to speak to or leave with a stranger even if they appear to be friendly. Kids are taught who a stranger is and what they may look like. Young people also learn that adults should never ask children for help, rather they should ask other adults. Kids are reassured that it is all right to tell an adult no if they do not know them. This simply presented information keeps kids safe during unsupervised play.
Eli’s second video, Eli Sprightly in What is a Law Enforcement Officer, shows young people who an officer is, what they do, and how to identify one -- so they know what to do in the event of an emergency. Students learn not to be afraid of a police officer because they are there to protect and serve.
The series contains a variety of other materials including activity sheets and books that reinforce the information presented in the videos. Also available are stickers, pencils, bookmarks and many other materials that present Eli’s personal safety messages.
