In The Know - Hallucinogens
Pamphlet

Readers are warned that hallucinogens have powerful and completely unpredictable effects on the mind, leaving them vulnerable to extreme mood swings, unpredictable flashbacks months after use, and, at the worst, schizophrenia and suicide.
The street names, appearance and effects of the most common hallucinogens -- LSD, psylocibin/psylocin muushrooms, Mescaline and peyote cactus and phencycladine (PCP)-- are described.
The short- and long-term emotional effects of hallucinogen use are described, including recurrences of the schizoid effects of the drugs weeks or months after use, depression, anxiety, psychotic episodes and even incurable schizophrenia.
PCP is singled out for particular warnings because of its tendency to make its users violent and oblivious to pain.
Readers wishing to learn still more about hallucinogens are directed to In the Know Zone, Fox Pro Media's drug abuse information website.
