Manuals are divided into six core subject areas: Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Health & Physical Education, and Art & Music. Subjects are approached through the concept of multiple intelligences, and the manual provides activities to recognize and develop student competency for each.
Science activities are used to introduce young people to the characteristics they will need to succeed in the workforce. Science activities use the multiple intelligence theory. The activities include – Bugs, Bugs Everywhere!, Energy, Eureka!, Fly me to the Moon!, Green Machine, How’s the Weather, Lab Safety, Mad Scientist?, Salad Time, Tree Talk, Who’s Who in Science?, Earth Day, Sardine Ice Cream, Tools of the Trade and Top 10.
In addition to creative lesson plans, each spiral-bound manual contains a chart of 125 occupations, organized into 25 career clusters with descriptions of tasks, skills required, and salary ranges. There is also a calendar with career-related events, and numerous website addresses for teachers and students to explore.
